Senior System Administrator

Job Overview:

IBEX is looking for a Senior System Administrator, with strong Server, troubleshooting, network and scripting skills, to join our Global Server Operations team. GSO is responsible for developing tools to automate and support the deployment, management, and monitoring of infrastructure. The candidate in this position will take a lead role in supporting and building these highly available and highly scalable solutions that help empower IBEX facilities to fulfill thousands of users globally! The ideal candidate for this job has an extensive IT knowledge, with previous experience as a Senior System Administrator, maintaining and developing solutions in a large-scale environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, Manage and Support servers and Core Services/Apps like Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, Group Policy.
  • Take the lead in maintaining the servers and desktop infrastructure across datacenters and remote sites to ensure that users can easily access mission-critical applications
  • Troubleshoots issues at both the servers and PCs level. Provide support to customers/teams remotely and over the phone
  • Develop Operational Policies and Procedures
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that the Service Level Agreements (SLA) are adhered to at all times
  • Provide coordination and be an escalation point for the local technical and project teams
  • Manage issues escalated from service desk, ensuring all activities do not cause Service Level Agreements (SLA) violation
  • Support all parts of the infrastructure with a focus on Problem Management of Applications including Core Platforms (Server 2012 R2/2016/VMware ESXi), MS Exchange, Backup solutions, DNS/DHCP/Group Policy
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues on servers and other related devices and diagnose the cause of problems of incidents escalated from other teams and investigate where possible and provide suitable solutions
  • Responsible for handling day-to-day work, including but not limited to Service Requests, Incident Requests, RCAs etc.
  • Monitor and make recommendations regarding the performance of servers within the environment
  • Analyze, detect, identify and correct technical problems and deficiencies
  • Perform detailed analysis on server/system failures or review analysis performed by other teams
  • Administration of exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 servers including Exchange Shell, Windows PowerShell scripting
  • ADFS & Single sign on implementation and troubleshooting

Job Specification: 

  • Bachelors in Computer Sciences
  • MCSE/MCITP/MCSA Certification
  • Virtualization - VMware ESXi 6.x VCP Certification
  • Knowledge of Antivirus / EDR solutions (Trend Micro etc)
  • Knowledge of various versions of MS Exchange 2010/2013/2016
  • Knowledge of Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS)
  • Knowledge of Citrix Netscaler Load Balancer/ Hardware Load Balancer
  • Knowledge of Barracuda Email Security Gateway
  • Knowledge of Azure AD, Express Route and O365
  • Knowledge of Amazon Route53, Direct Connect, S2, S3 and Glacier
  • Knowledge of MDM & DLP solutions
  • Backup Solutions (Veeam Backup and Replication)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and team player
  • Interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with clients
  • Time management to meet deadlines
  • Should be able to work in split shifts
  • Familiar with the IaaS public clouds (Azure or preferable AWS).
  • Understand Infrastructure and security services like Load Balancing, Firewall, TLS encryption etc.
  • Understand component placement for a traditional 3 tier application.
  • Proficiency in production troubleshooting, including distributed systems.
  • Familiar with Monitoring tools - both at the OS and application level.
  • Awareness around that "Hope is not a Strategy" when dealing with complex interactions between people and data systems.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to evaluate / measure work results in the Enterprise context.
  • Familiarity with basic Project Management techniques to facilitate resource and workload management.
  • Ability to manage difficult (or conflict) situations generated by daily interactions of a wide range of personalities.
  • Familiar with an SLO-based (Service Level Objectives) management style.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team management proficiency.
  • Clear vision on strategy, road to success and phases of delivery.
  • Experience : 5 to 7yrs
