How Artificial Intelligence is Transforming the Workplace?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revitalizing the standard of work. AI is rapidly changing almost every aspect of our day-to-day life, and our work-life has truly changed a great deal since its implementation. Not only is it being utilized in the form of virtual assistants, like Siri, Cortana, or even Alexa, and deciphering online algorithmic patterns, but artificial intelligence is also becoming widely implemented in the workplace for the betterment of business and overall efficiency. Businesses that have already adopted AI have shown immense improvement in customer experience, efficiency, cost reduction, income growth, productivity, etc. According to a survey by PwC, 72 percent of respondents believe that AI is the next best thing for businesses. Here are four ways artificial intelligence is renovating the workplace regime. Recruitment Process Artificial Intelligence is an amazing tool for hiring and recruitment, and many large corporations have started utilizing it. This tool helps companies find suitable candidates through enabling AI-machines that evaluate and assess cognitive features of potential candidates by comparing existing employees’ work performance and KPIs with that of the candidate. This is done by specifically ensuring that factors such as socioeconomic background, race, gender, religious affiliation, etc. are totally avoided in order to prevent potential bias during the recruitment process. This not only eliminates chances of work prejudice, but it also promotes workforce diversity and fairness. A product called Olivia, designed by Paradox, is an AI recruitment tool that is designed to help companies with taking care of screening candidates, managing applications, and taking care of queries, among other things. The idea is for Olivia and other similar AI tools to serve as helpers for companies so human employees are tasked with more important responsibilities while technology handles the mundane and simple ones. Training and Development Artificial intelligence helps in training and development by first studying how employees conduct different tasks. Once AI tools have an excellent understanding of the procedures, they then proceed to train new and existing employees on how to perform tasks more efficiently and effectively. As the corporate world continuously progresses, market requirements and trends change with it. This creates a competitive market and so, AI tools become increasingly important to implement in order to climb up the corporate ladder. Where humans cannot excel due to limitations, AI can serve as a helping hand to reach productivity goals. When an employee is lacking a skill, AI can enhance and develop personalized training programs that specifically suit the employee, in order to help them develop a better skillset. AI coaching tools such as Cogito or Chorus can help sales representatives, offering real-time tips as the call takes place. For employees starting out, this could be especially helpful as these tools aim to help pace the employee during customer interaction in order to ensure both parties have a good experience. Work productivity Productivity in the workplace has been the most impacted feature when it comes to implementation of artificial intelligence. AI serves the purpose of augmenting employees while they work, so naturally, productivity would increase. Companies have seen a great increase in not only productivity, but also profit as AI manages simple and repetitive tasks, while their human counterparts have more time to focus on more intricate tasks. This way, the notion of robots taking over humanistic jobs isn’t quite right as companies would ultimately always require human touch. A survey by PwC states that 67 percent of the respondents believed that humans and artificial intelligence can work together in the best ways possible to bring about the best productivity. Improved Cybersecurity Since artificial intelligence has proven itself to be more accurate and efficient, it has also been implemented in cybersecurity due to these qualities. Companies are using AI to detect possible threats in a shortened time frame. Not only that, but moderating, analyzing, responding, and eliminating any threat before it causes any damage to the organization’s structure is an easy task for artificial intelligence – something that humans would never be able to conduct, especially in real time. AI tools such as Exabeam and DeepArmor help prevent malware attacks, possible security breach and simultaneously notify security teams at such events for further action. Conclusion It seems that almost every major corporation has implemented the use of AI assisted tools to increase production, growth, etc. In such a rapidly developing world where technological determinism is at an all time high, AI has become a necessity rather than a choice.
