Hi! I am Rubab, a Customer Support Specialist at ibex. I am an ACCA student amongst many other roles such as a writer (amateur tho), TOEFL trainer, brand ambassador, daughter, and mommy to my fur baby. My hobbies include writing and sketching. Being the complete extrovert that I am, I love meeting new people, trying new things, and making the most out of every day. Given the pandemic, the past two years have been challenging and life-changing for a lot of us! It has been a particularly eventful time for me and full of personal and professional growth. My life has definitely transformed and changed for the better in more than one way. Every individual has goals & ambitions in their life, which are meant to help them chase their dreams and get a few steps closer to success. I, like many others, used the pandemic to focus on my goals and accomplish great things. ibex. has played a major role in helping me to gain experience to help me in my career and grow as a professional. My journey at ibex. started in July 2022, when I came across a job posting that felt like a great match for me. At the time I was looking for a way to launch my career and gain experience within the corporate world. I also needed a job that would accommodate my very busy lifestyle. Luckily for me ibex. ticked all the boxes and was the perfect place for me to work. After interviewing I was offered a job as a Customer Support Specialist and from that point, a new journey began for me. Working in the corporate sector, particularly for a multinational corporation, has always been a goal of mine. As a career-driven individual, I knew that ibex. would be able to teach me a lot of new skills. I never imagined being able to work a corporate job for such a huge company so early in my career. From the first day of my training to my most recent shift I have learned something new every time I step foot into the building. ibex. has a corporate culture that fosters learning and success. The community at ibex. is full of wonderful individuals (ibexians) who are always ready to help each other out. At ibex. everybody has a voice, and it is clear that each and every one of our voices matters. I remember when I first started, I was rather nervous about handling clients and ensuring that I am able to provide the best customer care possible. However, once I was on the floor, I felt all my worries disappear because of the support I got from fellow ibexians and leads. Fast forward to now, where thanks to the strong community of ibexians that I am surrounded by, I feel more confident than ever while working. One of the most important aspects of my time at ibex. has always been learning about innovation and delivering the best there is. The leads at ibex. are proactively working alongside us to ensure that we have a perfect skill set to be great and successful ibexians. It is so refreshing to work in an environment where everyone truly cares about making a difference through their position. As you can tell, there is always a lot going on at ibex. which makes working here even more exciting. Working as a Customer Support Specialist at ibex. has proven to be a milestone in my career, and it compliments other aspects of my life, such as my education really well. ibex. offers me flexibility and support that I would not have with other employers. However, even with ibex.’s full support combining my job with my studies has been quite tough to balance, but I have learned a thing or two during my time at ibex. Here are a few tips that have helped me maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Open Communication with the Employer

I was able to construct a successful path by having an open and honest relationship with my team lead. Everyone at ibex. are always ready to help, especially the team leads. I have found that being transparent with my lead has helped both of us to understand each other better and made it easier for me to do my job. Moreover, sharing my concerns openly has aided me in excelling not only in my studies but also at work.

Take Care of Yourself

Balancing your career, education, and personal life all at once can become overwhelming. It is important to put your health first and to ensure that you are feeling your best so that you can give your best. Simple activities like going for a walk, spending time with friends or family, eating healthy, and getting enough sleep can help you to ensure that your physical and mental health is good. Make sure that you take time out for yourself. Self-care is the key to accomplishing all your goals and being the best version of yourself.

Time Management

As a full-time student and an employee, you must strategically schedule your time. All this has taught me to prioritize my time and pay attention to the most important aspects of my life. Unfortunately, we are not super humans who can do everything all at once. I prioritize my family, work, and education the most. I ensure that I make time for all three appropriately throughout the week. I know that I am creating multiple core memories that I will cherish for many years. I am gaining experience that will help me throughout my career. Most of all, I am building my network with all the wonderful people, I am meeting, and collaborating with at ibex.
