Trip to North

April 22,2023

Life can take unexpected turns especially when you least expect it, I don’t know about you but it certainly took a big u-turn in my case. 2 months ago, I was sitting with my family and we were discussing the wonders of Pakistan. All the nature that has yet to be looked at by our eyes. I would just think to myself how fascinating it would be, what a sight it must be to witness all the humongous mountains with vibrant blue rivers streaming in the middle. How beautiful it must be to see the half snow covered mountains. How thrilling it must be to feel the snow on your hands and oh- how could I ever forget the crisp clean air. Never in my wildest dream, I could have imagined going on a Pakistan tour for 8 consecutive days that too at such beautiful places like Hunza, Shangrila, Besham, Altit Baltit Fort and Nanga Parbat view point with my team. A huge cheer to ibex. for taking me to a trip that changed my perspective of life.

I believe that beautiful sceneries can make you go wowzaaa for a day or two, but what really brings a trip to life is the people!! And I happened to be surrounded by some of the best. Our 8-day trip was anticipated dearly by the whole team and we just could not wait for it to begin.

Our official tour began on 9th February 2023, the whole team was gathered at Karachi Railway Station, everyone had an excited glint in their eyes as they conversed and met with each other and their families, snacks were packed, neck pillows were in hands and we were just so ready to get set and GO. The musical nights in the train cabins, the free karaoke and loads of gossip is what really kept me entertained throughout the whole ride and of course, the WINDOW SEAT.

To reach the most awaited destinations in Pakistan we surely had to sacrifice that one thing we cannot live without, no it’s not food its SLEEP! The whole 8 day trip was a compilation of adventure, thrill, fun and loads of exploring. Whether it be the hollow sinking feeling in your gut when we drove through the horrifying mountain roads, boating in the beautiful vibrant lake in Upper Kachura or passing through the Hussaini bridge that had a 3 inch gap after every step, or zip lining above the freezing cold lake and marveling over the beautiful horizon, hiking and sneaking out to go on an adventure! I had half of the stuff ticked off my bucket list and now I feel like I am on cloud 9. As someone who absolutely adores and loves travelling, adventure and exploring, it was a dream come true and of course how can we forget the BONE CHILLING COLD WEATHER. A fascinating mixture of pros and cons while travelling is what we needed.

Watching the glorious historic places, roaming around the streets of different cities, strolling through the local markets and just basking in the love and hospitality of the people living there. Discovering some of the most beautiful places in Pakistan, meeting the cutest Husky who literally leaped onto me and started snuggling into me right away!! (I melted then and there) running around like kids in the snow, making snow balls and aiming it towards our friends, making unforgettable memories and meeting old friends along the way is what made our trip amazing!!
